“This unique book, originally published in the Russian language, will enthrall and educate children and the young-at-heart everywhere. Through the use of enchanting tales, each ending with a list of questions and suggested activities, it fosters awareness of the health giving properties of different fruits. Additionally, the child becomes intimately aware of how and where each fruit is grown - the emphasis being on organic husbandry. Above all, the text instils a sense of wonder and thankfulness for the gifts of nature.
My only reservation about this work is that a few of the fruit recipes included in the final chapter contain a high amount of sugar - and thus, likely to be frowned upon by Western nutritionists. All in all, this is a fascinating book, providing insight into a Russian-inspired system of education virtually unheard of elsewhere. If approached with an open mind, parents and teachers can easily adapt the stories to reflect current nutritional advice and their personal philosophies.”

They have cleverly woven their rich stories with information about the fruit. A effective and creative thing to do. The addition of the recipes at the end it such a lovely touch. I look forward to trying some...”
