About the Author
It is said that if you can remember the Sixties you weren’t there. Ambrose Conway was there and has almost total recall of his formative years.
Ambrose is a former secondary school teacher and educational consultant who has a particular passion for developing positive reading habits among teenage boys who are so often lost to fiction. He has taught in rural, suburban and inner-city schools and has successfully tested out many of the ideas for The Reso on his unsuspecting students.
He grew up in the old Welsh storytelling tradition and recalls the ancient tales of The Mabinogi read in school as well as the stories of hardship, poverty and joy recounted by his parents.
Access to educational opportunity has been a decisive influence in his life and the inspiration for this book and its forthcoming sequel, ‘Beyond the Reso’.
Ambrose Conway is a regular contributor to the educational press with articles on e-learning, raising achievement and inclusive learning among his credits. He has spoken at regional, national and international conferences on similar themes.
Married, with two children, the contrast between his children’s upbringing and his own prompted the writing of The Reso as he found himself constantly comparing the quality of his own experiences of childhood with that of his own sons.
He divides his time between schools, military and industrial archaeology, flying, keeping on top of the garden, reminiscing about the past and worrying about the future.
